Matthew Bird: CEO and Founder
Aside from the day-to-day operations of MUNC, Matt also sets the direction for MUNC's technology development, strategies development and is an overall industry spokesperson for retail investor based communications. MUNCmedia, has partnered with NASDAQ OMX and is arguably one of the world's fastest growing financial communications companies. In 2009, Matt and MUNCmedia were honored by NASDAQ for accomplishments in retail investor communications by ringing the closing bell on July 21st. He was also featured as a panelist at the MIT Sloan CFO Summit. Prior to founding MUNCmedia, Mr. Bird founded the interactive media agency Tribeca Digital and held Vice President and Director roles for New Media, Marketing and Digital Communications at BBDO Worldwide, Screaming Media and IGM. Matt's career has led him to form relationships with Fortune 1000 brands such as Coca Cola, Orbitz, Yahoo!, Microsoft, Disney, Ramada, Toyota and Ford. Collectively, he has managed over $400 million in brand development over his 13 year career in media, advertising and communications. Matt became an official member of the National Investor Relations Institute in 2007 and is a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the American Marketing Association since 1999. Matt majored in Business Administration at the University of Washington. Doug Schmidt: Senior Vice President / Strategic Business Development Doug brings a wealth of strategic business development experience as well as C-Level business relationships to MUNCmedia. His primary focus as VP of Strategic Business Development is to cultivate and manage tier-1 revenue generation partners and open up new strategic partnership opportunities. Prior to joining MUNCmedia, Doug spent 15 years on Wall Street as an analyst, chief operating officer, director of equity sales, and institutional salesman with Merrill Lynch, Furman Selz and ING Barings. In past years, he has been involved with several start-up companies in healthcare, technology, media and telecom. Doug is also a film and television producer, most notably with the Magic Tent. The company is the first indigenous children's television program for the Indian Sub-continent and was developed by the creative team behind the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Dr. Seuss. Doug sits on the board of the Good Deed Foundation. The organization is focused on creating sustainable funding for non-profits focused on climate change and poverty. He is also a steering committee member of the Blue Planet Summit. Doug received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Douglas A. Ventola: EVP / Chief Financial Officer Doug is a seasoned financial and business executive, with over 20 year experience. Most recently, Doug was Senior Vice President for NASDAQ OMX, leading their Corporate Services Division. In that role, Doug led a team numbering over 150 during several years of tremendous revenue growth in 3 business verticals. Doug successfully acquired and integrated multiple businesses on behalf of NASDAQ OMX and led the development of new products and services. Doug also improved the profitability of the businesses under his management through efficient integration and realized synergies. Doug managed businesses and resources spread across the Globe, including Boston, MA; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco CA; London, England; and Copenhagen Denmark; among others. Doug also served as President of Shareholder.com, President of GlobeNewswire, and President of Directors Desk while at NASDAQ OMX. Prior to joining NASDAQ OMX, Doug was CFO for Shareholder.com, a leading provider and innovator in shareholder communications, institutional intelligence and executive advisory services to over 2,000 publicly traded companies worldwide. At Shareholder.com, Doug established and formalized the accounting and finance function for the rapidly growing business. Doug also led the due diligence process on behalf of Shareholder.com, culminating in the successful sale of Shareholder.com to The NASDAQ Stock Market. Prior to Shareholder.com, Doug was Worldwide Controller for Key3Media, formerly Ziff Davis Events. Doug holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University, with a concentration in accounting. Frank J. Lane: Executive Vice President / Client Services Frank is a Seattle native who has spent the last 15 years in the high technology sales and business development space and most recently left Ameritech as the Vice President of Sales. Frank's focus has been in the telecommunications and networking sector with customers like Cisco, Motorola, Cingular and AT&T. Over the last two years, Frank has consulted with online retail trading community to examine research and trading/investment behavior. Frank graduated with a BSEE from Seattle University. Bradley H. Smith: VP / Chief Marketing Officer Bradley brings over 15 years of brand, product and creative marketing into the organization. Most recently, Bradley was Director of Products and Strategy for NASDAQ OMX’s Corporate Services’ business unit. Bradley joined NASDAQ via their acquisition of Shareholder.com where his leadership as CMO garnered the attention of the NASDAQ and their subsequent purchase. He is a frequent media pundit on shareholder communications and corporate governance and his product marketing leadership has won a Fast Company Champion of Innovation Award. His new media expertise is a featured example in the #1 best seller “The New Rules of PR and Marketing” by David Meerman Scott and his blog was profiled by industry publication, IR magazine, for its excellence. While at NASDAQ, Bradley was the lead product marketer for their expanding organic and acquisition product development, resulting in exponential revenue growth. Prior to NASDAQ / Shareholder.com, Bradley was head of marketing at InfiMed, a medical device company where his experience was highly focused on International marketing, OEM and VAR channel marketing and sales enablement. |
